Glazier Education & Employment Surrey, BC

A glazier is a construction professional that selects, cuts, installs, replaces, and removes commercial and residential glass and aluminum. Glaziers install aluminum storefront, aluminum curtain walls, swing doors, glass handrails and all other glass products including mirrors.

Apprentice Glaziers

An apprentice glazier can work on both commercial and residential projects. It takes approximately four years for an apprentice to complete his or hers on-the-job training and schooling. After filling all qualifications, an apprentice becomes a full journeyman glazier and is qualified to run and supervise commercial and residential glazing projects. In British Columbia, glaziers must attend a red seal trade school in order to receive their full journeyman qualifications. Below please find a link to the Finishing Trades Institute of BC and their information regarding the apprenticeship program.
